Abstract:	This article describes the time line and explores the history of Usui Reiki Ryōhō, a Japanese spiritual healing modality founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It delves into Usui’s life, including his spiritual awakening after a period of hardship and his establishment of the Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryōhō Gakkai (Usui Reiki Therapy Society). It highlights the possible connection between the rise of Usui Reiki Ryōhō and the suppression of another spiritual movement, Ōmoto. The abstract also explores the core beliefs of Usui Reiki Ryōhō, which center on the concept of a universal life force called Reiki. However, it acknowledges the ambiguity surrounding the exact meaning of Reiki. The article mentions the limited written records on Usui Reiki Ryōhō practices due to the organization’s emphasis on secrecy and the destruction of materials during World War II. Il approfondit la vie d'Usui, notamment son éveil spirituel après une période de difficultés et sa création de la Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryōhō Gakkai (Société de thérapie Usui Reiki).
